WHAT TO EXPECT

“What’s going to happen on that first appointment?”

There are a lot of chiropractors in Fort Collins.  Not all clinics are the same.  When you visit our office we would like for you to be comfortable ahead of time with our chiropractic patient care.  There are usually a lot of questions about what is going to happen on the first visit.  For those who have never been to a chiropractor it can be a first day of school experience; new and interesting.  For those who have been to a chiropractor, it is a bit like a class reunion; familiar but different.  So here is what to expect.

Consultation

This is when I would like to hear from you what is bothering you most and what health obstacle you are aiming to overcome.  We are going to discuss when this started and how it is limiting your life at this point.  We will talk about what you have done previously to solve this problem and what your immediate and future health goals are.

Examination

This is the part when we really start to uncover what the real issue is.  The goal of the rest of the visit is to determine the answer to two questions.  What is causing your problem?  Can this office and chiropractic help you?  To this end, we will perform a postural evaluation, range of motion test, orthopedic, chiropractic and neurologic exams.

XRay’s

After your examination, I will determine if we need diagnostic imaging of your spine. We do take x-rays in our office when they are needed.  Not every scenario requires x-rays and we only take them when we feel they are necessary.  If we determine advanced imaging is required (i.e. MRI, CT Scan, etc) we will refer you to a facility locally in Fort Collins for those needs.

What’s Next

After your consultation and examinations, we are going to schedule a follow-up consultation where we will go over the results of the exams and tests.  We will answer those two questions. What is causing your problem?  Can chiropractic and this office help?  Further, we will discuss your treatment and financial options in detail
